African Folk Art & Kentuckians Travel Art Exhibit

This art exhibit will include African folk art and a Kentuckian Travel exhibit which includes goods brought back from Europe, Asia, Africa, Central, and South America.

Cooperative Center For Study Abroad (CCSA) for Office Staff

During this workshop for office associates, there will be information provided about the partnership with CCSA and what the office associate’s role is in creating courses for students to receive WKU credit for courses taken abroad.

Say Your Name Workshop

  • Location: Faculty House
  • Time: 2:00pm - 3:00pm

Do you find it difficult pronouncing the names of your international students and scholars?  Come to this workshop to learn how to correctly pronounce the common names in the 3 languages representing the largest international student populations on WKU’s campus: Arabic, Chinese, and Indian dialects.  Since seating is limited, a total of 30 spots are available.

WKU Confucius Institute Reception, Entertainment, and Chopstick Lesson

  • Location: WKU Confucius Institute - Helm Library 100
  • Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm

This reception for WKU employees will provide free Chinese dumplings, as well as entertainment from the WKU Chinese Music Club. Attendees of the reception will also be able to meet with the new Confucius Institute teachers and visiting scholars with short lessons on how to use chopsticks. Also, there will be a free WKU Confucius Institute dress shirt drawing held.

A Mighty Heart - Film & Discussion

Presented by John Baker, School of Leadership Studies, 

A Mighty Heart, starring Angelina Jolie, is based on the true story of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl (who was kidnapped and subsequently murdered in Pakistan, shortly after 9/11).There will then be a discussion on the cultural leadership implications portrayed in the movie. Chinese Film Festival - "Together"

This drama will be the second showing of the kickoff of the Chinese Film Festival that will be held quarterly at WKU. This film will contain English subtitles.
