The School of Nursing offers the following programs: an Associate of Science in Nursing (LPN to ASN), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (prelicensure and RN to BSN Completion) a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

The Mission of the School of Nursing (SON) at WKU is to produce nationally and globally competitive nursing graduates at the associate, baccalaureate and graduate levels and to provide continuing education opportunities for lifelong learning to our constituents.

Baccalaureate, Graduate and Doctorate Program Accreditation:

The baccalaureate degree in nursing, master's degree in nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs at Western Kentucky University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K street NW, Suite 750,  Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791. (ccneaccreditation.org). The pre-licensure nursing programs (BSN and APRN) also have approval status from the Kentucky Board of Nursing, which determines candidate eligibility for licensure. 

Associate Program Accreditation:

The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program has been accredited since 1966 by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) (formerly called the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)), 3343 Peachtree Rd NE Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326 1-404-975-5000.  The ASN and LPN to ASN programs also have approval status from the Kentucky Board of Nursing, which determines candidate eligibility for licensure.
