I decided to come to WKU because I just found it to be so comfortable. I did one tour with my parents, and that was all that I needed. They fell in love with it, and I saw myself being a student here.
So far, my overall experience at WKU has been amazing! I’ve met so many different people from different parts of the world, some that have been in the exact same spots that I have. I’ve even met some students with military parents like me, so we’ve been in similar situations growing up.
I’m a nursing major. So far, I can say it is difficult and challenging, but if you are looking forward to being a nurse, you should expect a challenging career. The nursing program at WKU is doing a great job preparing me for the challenges and rewards of being a nurse.
My main extracurricular activity is being a part of the Symphony at WKU. I play viola, and we rehearse twice a week and perform a concert every month. It’s an amazing experience! That was one of the big things that I was looking forward to being a part of when I came to WKU.
When I graduate, I want to be a nurse practitioner at the hospital in Hardin County, where I’m from. I also want to start up a strings program for the younger generation, something that is currently unavailable in my hometown. There’s no orchestra in the high schools, so I would love to be able to help provide that opportunity for Hardin County students.
WKU is helping me fulfill so many of my dreams!
