I decided to come to WKU when I was 15, I’m 23 now. I won a competition at the Exposure Journalism workshop at WKU, and I fell in love with the school and everything about it. I went to the Army after high school, and then I went to a different college. I realized I wasn’t happy there, so I went back to my first love-- WKU!
My overall experience at WKU has been so positive. Everyone I have come in contact with has just been smiley, and they are always happy. My professors and my academic advisor have been so helpful. It’s not easy to transfer schools, but it’s been simplified, especially with the help of my academic advisor. I just love everything about this school.
I think the fact that people are just so nice helps make me more comfortable. Last semester, I was having a really bad day. I was driving around, and I saw a WKU police officer. I wanted to sit and talk, and he was so nice to me. He genuinely cared what was wrong. I talked with him for a really long time. He made sure I got home safely, and he told me to come check in with him because he wanted to know how my day went. Whenever I see him now, it’s a heartwarming feeling.
I’m a History major with a minor in legal studies. The main history teacher that I’ve had so far was Dr. LaFantasie. He would throw in jokes during his lectures to liven things up. He always tried to help us. He’s a very helpful professor, and he likes to talk to his students. I definitely respect that he wants to get to know you.
