Coming to WKU was kind of a random decision. Once I got on campus, I totally fell in love with it! I felt right at home.
My overall experience at WKU has been nothing but positive. I feel like I’ve grown so much as a person since coming here. There’s been a lot of exciting opportunities.
The faculty in the Economics department are phenomenal. They all really care about the subject, but they also really care about the students. I’ve always felt that I connected really well with my economics professors. I feel like I’m getting a really good education in economics and it's very hands on.
I decided to study aboard, and I came across the student exchange program in Seoul, South Korea. It seemed like a culturally immersive experience. It was really exciting and very challenging. It was my first time out of the country, and I just got on a plane and flew halfway across the world for four months. It was amazing. It made me appreciate home a lot more, but it also opened my eyes to how big the world is and my place in it. I’m not just a citizen of Kentucky, or the United States, but of the world.
I love the spirit and enthusiasm that’s always here. I recently visited a friend at a different university, and in comparison, WKU seems so alive, spirited, and enthusiastic. I could feel the difference! At WKU, I feel like everyone is in it together, really engaged, and wanting to learn and participate. That’s definitely something that’s rare. I love that about WKU!
