WKU alumnus is taking his career to the sky serving in U.S. Navy: After graduating from WKU with a degree in Marketing, Alex Sajewski of Fort Worth, Texas, used his family’s legacy as inspiration for his next career move. “My father was a Marine for over 25 years,” stated Sajewski. “My grandfather served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart. I was brought up in a military lifestyle and grew to appreciate what the armed forces do for our country.”

Track & Field: Indoor PR Secures Second-Straight C-USA Honor for McIntyre: For the second-consecutive week, WKU Track & Field's Morgan McIntyre has been tabbed the Conference USA Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. The senior's second career accolade comes after clearing an indoor pole vault personal record of 3.98 meters (13'0.75") over the weekend at the Indiana University Relays.
Men’s basketball: Hollingsworth Named Kentucky Sports Figure of the Year Finalist: WKU Hilltopper Basketball freshman guard Taveion Hollingsworth has been named one of 10 finalists for the 2017 Lexington Herald-Leader Kentucky Sports Figure of the Year Award. Hollingsworth, a 6-foot-2 native of Lexington, Ky., is the highest active WKU men's basketball figure in the award's voting since coach Ralph Willard in 1993. He's the highest active WKU men's basketball player since Ty Rogers in 2008.
Internship in memory of BGHS graduate gives students opportunities: McKenzi Loid, a young public relations professional and Bowling Green High School graduate, was still starting her career when she was suddenly killed in a car accident last summer. Now, through a new internship in her name, a public relations student at WKU is working with BGHS journalism students to pass on public relations principles as they plan and run their own publicity campaign.
Getting to the line helping to fuel WKU's success: WKU is not a great free-throw shooting team. In fact, WKU ranks in the 36th percentile among all Division I teams by having made just 69.7 percent of its shots from the line. But what the Hilltoppers do exceptionally well is get to the line in the first place. So even if the percentage of shots made from the line may be lacking, the quantity of shots made is not.
Topper Travelers Program 2018: The WKU Alumni Association is planning a Baltic Cruise across Northern Europe June 21-July 2. The 10-night cruise across the Baltic Sea aboard Marina will begin in Copenhagen, Denmark, with stops in Berlin, Germany; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Stockholm, Sweden.
