Message from VP Kuster - The Division of Enrollment and Student Experience

In these challenging times, our faculty and staff continue to rise up together, with our primary focus on our students and how we can help them succeed. I know my colleagues in Academic Affairs are working hard to deliver informative and engaging online learning content for students. I thank them for their efforts in this trying time. Likewise, staff in the Division of Enrollment and Student Experience are adjusting the way they interact with students outside of the classroom. We continue to support students as they complete their academic work. The following are important updates on the steps being taken to continue to serve, support, and reach out to students during this time.
Staff in the Academic and Career Development Center are now working with students via Zoom, phone, or email. Individual appointments for tutoring, as well as PASS, are continuing using Zoom. Our Career Services staff stand ready to assist students as well. Staff are using Zoom and email to provide services such as practice interviews and resume reviews. For students with concerns about financing their education, Student Financial Assistance is ready to assist. Staff are accessible via Zoom appointments, telephone, and email. The Student Accessibility Resource Center (SARC) is available to students to help them with this transition from face-to-face classes to remote modalities. Staff in SARC are set up remotely to help students if they require additional support in the classroom.
All of our other departments have moved their programs and services to an online medium. Counselors in the Counseling Center are seeing current clients over Zoom as well as taking new appointments for remote sessions. Student Activities and Unions, as well as the Intracultural Student Development Center (ISEC), are working on adding programming that can be done online. This same principle is being used by staff in Campus Recreation and Wellness. Though facilities are closed for the remainder of the semester, staff invite all students, faculty, and staff to check out their website, Facebook page, Instagram, and twitter accounts for activities and educational programs that you can take part in. The Student-Athlete Success Center has transitioned from face-to-face study hall to a virtual study hall, and all tutoring/mentoring/organizational appointments will be via Zoom.
To assist in the food security needs of our WKU campus community, the WKU Food Pantry is available Monday-Friday, by contacting Dr. Leslie North for an appointment. Our Admissions office continues to work virtually with students who are interested in making WKU their home in the fall.
While the staff in the Division of Enrollment and Student Engagement are working in new and different ways to reach out and support students during this time, our guiding mission has not changed. Whether remotely or in-person, we stand ready to fulfill our Division mission and support students as they:

- Realize their peak potential
