Father-Daughter duo graduate together this fall
- Friday, December 14th, 2018
Among our graduating seniors this fall are father and daughter duo Jim and Brooke DeCesare. Jim will be graduating with his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Business, and Brooke will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. Both will walk together during the Potter College Recognition Ceremony this Saturday.
“I am so excited to graduate with my dad,” said Brooke. “He started taking classes when I was in high school, so it has been so amazing to watch him get his degree, which is something he has always wanted to do. He is such a great role model, and I couldn’t be more proud of him.”
Jim said that the best part of his WKU experience has been attending classes while both of his children (son Justin recently completed the first semester of his freshman year) were also enrolled. “WKU means family to me. My personal family, who have, or are attending WKU, and the Hilltopper Nation Family. No matter where I go I always run into someone who has a connection WKU,” he said.
Jim has already begun his graduate studies in the Professional MBA Program at WKU, and Brooke will take a job in the marketing department with Pink Lily Boutique online retail store. “The organizations I have been involved in have made the biggest impact on my college career,” said Brooke. “The people I have met here are so special. I had a wonderful Greek life experience and an even better experience serving in executive roles for the Student Alumni Ambassadors.”
The pair are looking forward to graduating together on Saturday. “It’s very unique to be getting to walk at graduation with my dad. It’s something we’re both super proud of,” said Brooke. Her dad concurs, saying experience is, “Too special for words. It’s an experience I look forward to sharing with Brooke. I am excited for her and her future knowing she is ready to start her career.”
Congratulations to both Jim and Brooke.
