WKU Staff Leadership Institute 2022-23 cohort selected

Twenty-four individuals have been selected for the upcoming WKU Staff Leadership Institute (SLI) and met for the first time on September 28.
They are: Allie Pardue, Amelia Kolb, Asia Hunter, Cara Cordell, Deanna Jenkins, Hendrix Brakefield, Jasmina Mehmedovic, Jean Johnson, Jessica Basham, Kim Minton, Lisa Roberts, Monica Ramsey, Naomi Rowland, Patrick Collins, Rachel Cato, Renee Purdy, Rina Lewis, Robin McCubbins, Robin Pyles, Steva Kaufkins, Tabitha Cantrell, Tammy West, Tishiba Roberson, and Toni Burnham.
SLI is offered through a partnership between WKU Human Resources, WKU Staff Senate, and WKU Continuing & Professional Development. It is designed to develop leadership skills for WKU staff who have demonstrated advancement potential.
“We are proud to offer a unique and collaborative program that explores leadership development in the context of higher education,” said Andrea Sherrill, WKU AVP/Chief Human Resources Officer. “Participants leave with stronger campus connections and a better understanding of resources available to them at WKU, which benefits all staff employees, regardless of position.”
Participants will spend nine days over the next seven months improving leadership competencies including communication skills, teambuilding, and personal development strategies, as well as gaining knowledge about valuable resources throughout campus and the WKU community.
“We are excited to partner with WKU Human Resources and WKU Staff Senate to provide personal and professional development for WKU staff,” said April McCauley, program coordinator. “We look forward to seeing the impact that the program has on the new cohort and the impact that this cohort will have on the WKU community.”
