Spring 2012 International Student Orientation

All new international students MUST attend the MANDATORY international student orientation. After admittance students receive an acceptance package, in addition to a series of e-mails from our office to inform them of orientation schedule and dates. Accepted students MUST arrive in Bowling Green within two (2) weeks BEFORE first day of classes to attend all mandatory orientation events.

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) provides a free MANDATORY orientation program for all incoming international students in F-1 or J-1 status at start of every fall and spring semester including freshman, graduate, transfer and exchange students. It is designed to help students learn about and understand important immigration regulations and procedures required of F-1 and J-1 students, confirm their arrival for required government reporting purposes and assist new students in adjusting to WKU and U.S. Life.

Topics include:
Check in to the university system, international student responsibilities, student life, academic advising, course registration, opening a bank account, obtaining a WKU student ID Card and being prepared to start classes.

For Spring Semester 2012, students MUST Check In Tuesday, January 17. New Student Orientation is on Wednesday, January 18. Thus, accepted students MUST arrive in Bowling Green BEFORE January 17, 2012 to attend all the mandatory orientation events.
