SurfKY.com: Instruments of American Excellence Exhibit to Open Friday

BOWLING GREEN, KY (9/20/12) – Western Kentucky University will open the “Instruments of American Excellence” Collection at the Kentucky Museum with a special ceremony at 1 p.m. Friday.

Several contributors to the collection will be in attendance, including Sara Mearns, Principal dancer for the NYC Ballet who will speak during the ceremony.

The collection spotlights the ordinary means by which renowned Americans from all fields of study have achieved extraordinary things. To date WKU has received 150 contributions of the important instruments that great Americans have used in the scientific, medical, art, music, dance, manufacturing and athletic worlds.

Parking is available in the Adams Street and Kentucky Museum lots. More information is available at http://www.wku.edu/iae.
