"If I had any tips for other students who have yet to take advantage of this opportunity [to take the STAMP test], I would tell them it is definitely worth it! It saves time, money, and lets you focus on classes in your major by fulfilling this language requirement faster."

What our students are saying about the STAMP Test

"Wow! Truthfully, I walked out of that test feeling very uneasy about it. I had no idea I would even pass let alone do so well on the test. I think that some parts of the test were easy, and some seemed very hard for me.

I obviously had never taken the test so I really did not know what to expect before I took it. I did brush up on some Spanish basics before the test. I looked at the grading rubric for each section and focused on studying the parts that I had forgotten or never learned while taking Spanish in high school. I feel like that helped me a lot and would recommend that to anyone who is taking the test in the future.

Although I think learning a second language is important, I did take this test to fulfill my language requirements. I am glad I did it this was because it was MUCH cheaper than taking the full course and I was able to open up another class on my schedule that could fulfill credit for my major.

If I had any tips for other students who have yet to take advantage of this opportunity, I would tell them it is definitely worth it! It saves time, money, and lets you focus on classes in your major by fulfilling this language requirement faster. I came in very hesitant and expecting that I would need to retake it multiple times to pass but I only had to take it once and passed. Although WKU does not recommend this, I waited almost 5 years after completing a Spanish course to take the STAMP test and I was still able to pass after brushing up on some basics. So I would definitely tell anyone who hasn’t taken the STAMP test that it is an amazing opportunity that WKU offers with so many benefits that everyone should take advantage of."
