All events are FREE for all M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan participants  |  WKU ID and M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan name tag are required for entry.

Saturday, August 12

WKU Fan Fest

2-4 PM, Diddle Arena | Spend a day with the WKU Football team, Big Red, the WKU Cheerleaders, and Topperettes!  Games, face painting, balloon art, inflatables, and dunk tank! FREE Chaney’s Dairy Farm ice cream and popcorn for the first 500 fans! Show off your skills during the NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick Contest, and get autographs of your favorite players.

GLOW ZONE | M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan Opening Social

10 PM, DSU South Lawn | Glow Zone is a Paint Dance Party with great music and lots of paint. Glow Zone is a heart-pounding, nonstop EXPERIENCE that is more than your average dance party.

Monday, August 14

Meijer Mania

8:30-11:30 PM, Valley, Ransdell, Poland Lot, and PFT Lot Shuttle Stops | Ready for a shopping frenzy? Hop on of the Meijer Mania Shuttles and you will be transported to the Meijer superstore where free food will be served, a DJ will be spinning, there will be free giveaways, games and more! Coupons will be given out as well, so pick up those final items to make your room perfect! Sponsored by Meijer

 

Zumba

8:15-9 PM, Preston Health and Activities Center Dance Studio | Ready to get moving? This high energy class that mixes Latin Dance with Body Sculpting Aerobic intervals. You'll be having so much fun moving, you'll forget you’re actually working out! Sponsored by the Health and Fitness Lab.

 

Meet the Greeks

9-11 PM, DSU 2nd/3rd Floor | Everyone is invited to come “Meet the Greeks!” Socialize and get to know members of WKU’s fraternities and sororities and learn more about what “going greek” is all about!  Sponsored by the Panhellenic Association, Interfraternity Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council.

 

Black Greek 101

9:30-11 PM, DSU 2123 | Are you interested in joining a Black Greek Letter Organization (BGLO)? Join the Office of Student Activities as we present all you need to know to start your journey to joining a National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) fraternity or sorority, during Black Greek 101. This session will share information about the creation of NPHC, how it relates to WKU, and mostly importantly what you need to potentially be a member. The session will help to meet one of the requirements needed to participate in a process. Before or following the session, we encourage you to introduce yourself to NPHC members at Meet the Greeks.

8-11pm, Preston Health and Activities Center | Shoot some hoops, hit the treadmill, or pump some iron at the Preston Center….and while you’re there ask the front desk about ways you can get involved in Health and Fitness Lab programs or Intramural and Club sports!  Don’t forget your WKU ID and M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan name tag! You’ll need both to get in!

 

Residence Hall Visitation

8pm-12am, All Residence Halls | Visit your new friends’ residence halls and check out their cribs, watch a movie, order a pizza, or just chill in the lobby! Just remember, Visitation is only for M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan students...and don’t forget your Big Red ID and name tag. You should never leave home without them!

Welcome to the SARC Tank! 

5-7 PM, DSU 2001 | The Student Accessibility Resource Center will be hosting this exciting social event.   The SARC Tank social will include food, games, and information regarding SARC services. The social is designed for students registered with SARC, for students interested in registering with SARC, for friends of students registered with SARC, and for students interested in working or volunteering in SARC to learn more about SARC's purposes, services, volunteering, and employment opportunities. Come meet the staff, grab dinner, tour the office, grab another cookie, and connect with other like-minded students committed to being successful at WKU.  Dinner is provided! Please contact the SARC office at sarc.connect@wku.edu if you have any questions or any specific food allergies/requests that need to be addressed. Sponsored by Student Accessibility Resource Center

8pm-11 PM, Preston Center | Come out and join M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan  for a night of games, food, and FUN, as we celebrate M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan’s 25th Year!  With over $1,500 in prizes and plenty of inflatables it’s a night you don’t want to miss! Sponsored by M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan, Campus Activities Board (CAB), Preston Center, and WellU.

 

Movie Night: Moana

8:30pm, Preston Center - An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana meets the once-mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.
