Bachelor of Science in Marketing

Degree Requirements effective January 2014: Students pursuing a major in Marketing may choose between 1) the Strategic Marketing track; 2) the Professional Sales track; or 3) the Social Media Marketing track.

Courses needed to complete the Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing (beyond admission requirements and core courses) include:

Marketing Core (required of all Marketing majors)

  • MKT 321 Consumer Behavior
  • MKT 325 Personal Selling
  • MKT 421 Marketing Research
  • MKT 422 Marketing Management
  • MGT 361 Business Writing OR
    ENG 306 Business Writing

Students must also fulfill the requirements for one of the following tracks:

Strategic Marketing track:

  • MKT 322 - Integrated Marketing Communications OR
    MKT 328 - Marketing on the World Wide Web OR
    MKT 331 - Social Media Marketing
  • MKT 327 - Retail Management and Strategy OR
    MKT 423 - Supply Chain Management
  • MKT Elective - Any Marketing course not included elsewhere in the major degree program
  • MKT Elective - Any Marketing course not included elsewhere in the major degree program
  • PROF Elective - Any 300 or 400 level College of Business course not included elsewhere in the major degree program

Sales track:

  • MKT 329 - Business to Business Marketing
  • MKT 424 - Sales Force Management
  • MKT 425 - Advanced Personal Selling
  • MKT Elective - Any Marketing course not included elsewhere in the major degree program
  • PROF Elective - Any 300 or 400 level College of Business course not included elsewhere in the major degree program

Social Media Marketing track:

  • MKT 322 - Integrated Marketing Communications
  • MKT 328 - Marketing on the World Wide Web
  • MKT 331 - Social Media Marketing
  • MKT Elective - Any Marketing course not included elsewhere in the major degree program
