Graduate Certificate in Economic Data Analytics


This graduate certificate will help prepare professionals for jobs in both public and private sector. The  certificate comprises quantitative courses offered in MA in Applied Economics and offers them as a separated degree. 

Students have an option to enroll in just the certificate without enrolling in the Master's program or they can earn the certificate while completing their Master's degree.

The certificate requires completion of 12 hours of graduate courses: 

  • ECON 465G Regression and Econometric Analysis (3 hours)
  • ECON 506 Applied Statistical Methods (3 hours)
  • ECON 594 Forecasting (3 hours)
  • ECON 464G Introduction to Mathematical Economics (3 hours)
    or ECON 507 Data Methods in Economics (3 hours)
    or ECON 596 Applied Economics Project (3 hours)
    or ECON 598 Independent Study Economics (3 hours)

Admission to the certificate does not require or include admission to the MA in Applied Economics program.  Applicants are required to have completed an introductory statistics course prior to enrolling in the certificate program. Applicants are subject to WKU's graduate admission requirements. Please refer to the admission section of this catalog for Graduate School admission requirements.
