WKU’s Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a concentration in Agricultural Education is accredited by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). This program is designed to prepare students for licensure in Kentucky. Thus, we have not determined that this program will meet the educational requirements for teacher certification outside the state of Kentucky. Graduates of this program may be able to apply for licensure in Iowa if the applicant completed a full state-approved teacher preparation program for college semester hour credits from a regionally-accredited institution outside Iowa, and coursework deficiencies were identified after an Iowa Board of Educational Examiners transcript review.

Additional requirements for state certification may include background checks, official transcripts, fees, additional coursework, training, experience, and jurisprudence and board examination results. For more details about teacher certification requirements and board contact information, please visit the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners website.
