    [Section_Value3] => <p>Jonathan Jeffrey, is the Department Head for the Department of Library Special Collections and the Manuscripts &amp; Folklife Archives Coordinator.&nbsp; He is responsible for managing the department and for acquiring, accessioning, cataloging, and providing reference services for unique manuscript items as well as folklore collections. The collection numbers over one million pages within approximately 4,500 manuscript collections as well as 4,000 audio recordings. This large repository of primary sources is used by faculty, students, the scholarly community at large as well as the public. Finding aids for many of the collections are now available on-line via TopSCHOLAR, WKU's digital archives, at <a href="https://email.wku.edu/owa/redir.aspx?C=aba8f7531a2b4b7b8d888e4d9ce36cb0&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2fdigitalcommons.wku.edu%2f" target="_blank">http://digitalcommons.wku.edu/</a> and via the Special Collections&rsquo; KENCAT at <a href="https://email.wku.edu/owa/redir.aspx?C=aba8f7531a2b4b7b8d888e4d9ce36cb0&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2fwku.pastperfect-online.com%2f35749cgi%2fmweb.exe%3frequest%3dks" target="_blank">http://wku.pastperfect-online.com/35749cgi/mweb.exe?request=ks</a> <br /> <br /> Jeffrey, who has been with Special Collections since 1990, also provides research instruction for classes in the use of primary sources and assists with reference duties in the Kentucky Library Research Collections. He works with one full-time Archival Assistant, student assistants, interns, and volunteers.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p>Mrs. McDaniel has been an Associate Professor since 1992 and Special Collections Librarian since 2007. She was previously University Archivist for WKU from December 1995 to 2006. Before that, she served in archival/librarian positions at Carson-Newman College (Jefferson City, TN, 1993-1995); University of Tennessee (Knoxville, 1992-1993); and WKU (Bowling Green, 1987-1992). Her research interests, presentations and publications include late nineteenth century etiquette, Western Kentucky University, and genealogy.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p><span>Ms. Richey serves as the Reading Room Coordinator and Visual Resources Librarian for the Department of Library Special Collections. A native of Mt. Hermon, Richey has been a faculty member at WKU since July 2008. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and WKU where she received degrees in Information Science and Southern History. Richey has served on various historical boards, including Janice Holt Giles Society, Morrison Park Camp Meeting Site Restoration Board and the Daughters of the American Revolution, and has authored two local history books in the Images of America book series published by Arcadia Press. She is responsible for collection development for the Kentucky Library for Genealogy and Local History, and for providing research assistance and library research instruction</span><span>&nbsp;to individuals and classes; and actively seeks materials to continue to build the unique image collections of the Department.</span></p>

She develops educational programs for diverse audiences and educators; plans and implements workshops and community outreach events; recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers and student workers for her unit. Each year, the unit serves thousands of K-12 students, educators, WKU students and faculty, and the general public through a diverse offering of programming and services.</p>
