Fall Semester Library Access
Raymond Cravens Library fourth floor opening August 24
Facility Hours and Operations
In order to provide space for proper physical distancing, overall seating capacity is limited, and group and individual study rooms are unavailable at this time. Onsite service at Cravens Library and the BWEL Library has been condensed to a single point fashioned with a Plexiglass shield and Hand sanitizer at each location. All physical spaces and technology are cleaned according to university guidelines. Building hours for fall are posted on the library’s website.
In Preparation For Your Visit
Due to COVID-19, University Libraries is offering limited access to in-person library use. There is one entrance open on the fourth floor of Cravens Library. The fourth floor is the only floor that is currently open to the public. All materials can be requested at the Circulation Desk and library staff member will be happy to pull and check out any circulating items from our collection. In order to ensure the health and safety of our staff and library patrons, in accordance with WKU’s restart plan please review the following requirements:
A mask will be required for the duration of your time within University Libraries.
Please have a valid WKU ID.
For library requests you can fill out a library pickup request form or request items at the Circulation Desk in person. When items are returned they will be quarantined to ensure the safety of library staff and patrons.
Please observe safe social distancing practices of 6 feet at all times.
Hand sanitizer is available for use.
Books, Artifacts, and Other Physical Materials
WKU Libraries offers a concierge service and we will retrieve all print materials from the stacks for you. Please complete this form prior to arrival.
Print & Electronic Course Reserves
The Libraries is partnering with teaching faculty to identify and digitize course reserve materials according to copyright guidelines. (Physical course reserves are unavailable during the fall semester.) If materials cannot be digitized, library faculty will help determine if an alternative can be found through the library’s digital collections or if a digital version can be purchased. Digital course reserves are operating as usual.
Special Collections & Archives
Individuals may make appointments to access physical materials in the Special Collections & Archives. There may be limitations to accessing certain materials or collections; however, library personnel can work with you in advance to identify limitations and seek alternatives. Materials will be quarantined after use.

Library Pickup Service
Request to pickup an item
Library Pickup Procedure:
You can submit an online request or call us (270-745-3951) to schedule a pickup.
You will be notified via email with the date and time of pickup. Pickup will be available at the fourth floor entrance only.
Pickup times are scheduled to ensure minimal interaction with others.
Items will be placed in a plastic bag with the your name attached for an easy hand-off.
You will be required to show ID at the door and a mask is required to receive items.

Items Checked Out & Returning Items
Due Dates & Returning Items
Items due have been extended. Check your due dates here. You will also receive an email notification. Please note no fines are accruing at this time.
Returned items can be dropped off at the book returns at the entrance to Raymond Cravens Library on the first floor or the side entrance across the bridge on the fourth floor.
Document Services and ILL
Requesting Electronic Copies and Articles
Interlibrary Loan is fulfilling requests for electronic copies and articles. You can request digital document delivery of portions of print materials owned by the library. As various libraries open up thier collections across the country, we will attempt to accomadate to the best of our ability.
