Legal Studies provides a rigorous course of study for both Pre-Law students as well as students with other careers in mind.

According to the American Association of Law Schools (AALS), students preparing for law school should pursue a broad liberal arts program of courses. They should take courses that will help them to develop the ability to think clearly and analyze arguments critically. The interdisciplinary approach of the Legal Studies program exposes the student to the great variety of human behavior and institutions.

The Legal Studies majors and minors help students to break down the barriers between the liberal arts, the sciences, and business by introducing students to law as a broad interdisciplinary field. The major offers a broad-based curriculum that emphasizes excellence in reading comprehension, writing, and logical/analytical reasoning skills. Students will best prepare for law school by pursuing a rigorous course of study during their undergraduate years.
