Biography

Kristie Guffey is an Assistant Professor in Organizational Leadership, an academic unit in the School of Professional Studies, University College. Prior to joining WKU in 2016, Dr. Guffey had a career as a director of the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center, a division of the Kentucky Department of Education, Career and Technical Education for three years. Guffey earned a BS degree in agriculture education from WKU, and taught agriculture education and was an FFA advisor at Carlisle County High School.  In 2006, she earned her MS degree in Agriculture Education from Murray State University, and a Doctorate in Education from WKU in 2012.  Dr. Guffey's research interests focus' on global mindedness, personality assessments, and cultural intelligence.  Guffey has been an advocate of study abroad and global learning for many years.  She has lead over 17 study abroad trips to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands through WKU.
