The exhibit will open to the general public as scheduled during regular museum hours. 
Museum hours are Monday through Saturday 9 to 4, Sundays from 1 to 4.

The closing date will remain unchanged - Saturday, April 4 - with art scheduled for pickup from 5 to 7 pm.



All Kentucky residents 18 years of age or older living within a 65-mile radius of Bowling Green, Kentucky may submit a maximum of two works in any acceptable category (see below) as either a professional or amateur artist. WKU art and photography students, or students trained in related areas, enter in the Professional Division.

All entries must be original and completed during the past two years. Greenware, utilitarian kits and craft items are not eligible. Organizers reserve the right to disqualify from consideration any work which does not meet acceptable standards or poses installation problems and to determine appropriate divisions.

Professional Artists

Includes college level students and persons with significant art training, as well as persons who regularly sell their work.

Amateur Artists

Includes persons with limited art training who enjoy art as a hobby.


A maximum of two works may be submitted by one artist
in one or a combination of the following categories. Both
works will be exhibited.

Works on Paper
Mixed Media
Fiber Arts
Ceramics & Glass
Photography (no video, slide or CD presentation)

World's Greatest Studio Tour Merit Award - $100

In each of the above eight categories:

Professional Awards

1st - $175
2nd - $125
3rd - $100

Amateur Awards

1st - $75
2nd - $50
3rd - $25


The Kentucky Museum will retain a 25% commission on all
sales directly attributed to this exhibition with a portion
providing scholarships for the Western Kentucky University
Visual Arts Department.


Accepted work must remain on exhibit February 28 - April 4, 2015. The exhibition committee reserves the right to reject any work that does not meet the criteria set forth in the prospectus. Organizers reserve the right to reproduce any work submitted for educational or promotional purposes. Submission of an entry to this exhibition will be understood to indicate agreement on the part of the artist with all conditions set forth in the prospectus.


Reasonable precautions will be taken in handling entries, but the Kentucky Museum is not responsible for the loss of or damage to submitted works. Artists should arrange for their own insurance. The Kentucky Museum is not responsible for works left behind at the close of the exhibition. Unclaimed artwork becomes the property of the Kentucky Museum 30 days after the exhibition closes.


All framed entries must be prepared for hanging with properly sized eyelets and wire. Other works which hang must have appropriate hanging devises. Entries not properly prepared or those presenting impossible handling or installation problems will not be accepted.
Note: Plexiglas is strongly recommended for works larger than 24".


All works must be hand-delivered and picked up by the Artist on the dates listed on the Celebration of the Arts Calendar. No work will be released to anyone other than the Artist without written permission from the Artist.

Vernissage Artshow Preview Party



On Friday, January 27, before the show opens to the public, there will be a preview party, known as “The Vernissage Party,” for art lovers who purchase tickets to be the first to view the art work and also have the first opportunity to purchase pieces.  It is a special evening of wine, art and fun. The Awards Ceremony for artists is held later in the evening as well.  Sponsorship opportunities, which include public recognition and complimentary tickets to commensurate with level of giving, are available for those who want to support this special evening and the art show.  Please contact John Perkins at for further information or download a sponsorship form.
