Faculty interested in learning more about fully-funded teaching and/or research opportunities through the Fulbright Scholar Program are invited to schedule a meeting with Fulbright Alumni Ambassador Amelia Phillips* April 4-5 to discuss options, explore awards, and more.

*Dr. Phillips is a Professor of Computer Information Systems/Computer Science and completed a research and lecturing Fulbright to Namibia in 2006. She has been trained by the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars to represent Fulbright at universities and conferences. 

Click here to register for a time to meet with Dr. Phillips by March 28th. If possible, please provide at least two options, and we will do our best to accommodate schedules (because we hope to ensure everyone has an opportunity to meet with the Fulbright Alumni Ambassador, some meetings may include multiple faculty members).

Fulbright Project Statement Workshop

  • Location: Downing Student Union Fresh Food's Cupola Room

Co-hosted by the Office of International Programs and the Office of Research & Creative Activity, this workshop will cover an array of topics on how to submit a competitive Fulbright Scholar Program application and feature two WKU Fulbright alumni: Kristin Wilson (Research Scholar, South Africa, 2016) and Kay Gandy (Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program, South Africa 2006; Fulbright Hays Seminars Abroad Program, Senegal 2016). Workshop topics will include

  • General do's and dont's for crafting competitive grant applications;
  • How to get started (researching awards, developing contacts);
  • Recognizing your audience (who reads Fulbright project statements?);
  • Common mistakes and integrating Fulbright elements;
  • Tackling revising
