The process for backing up data after a computer has a system refresh is changing on 3/1/18. Currently, all data is held on the existing hard drive for 30 days, then backed up to a secure server for 60 additional days. On this date, Desktop Support will no longer be backing up the data for the additional 60 days. The existing hard drive (or the data contained on an internal hard drive that cannot be removed from the computer) will be held for only 30 days after the system refresh is performed. All requests for any missing data must come inside the 30-day window in order to be recovered. For more information please contact the WKU IT Helpdesk.
