Microsoft Office Home Use Program

WKU is a Microsoft Volume License customer.  One of the benefits included in our Volume License is an option for WKU employees to purchase a Home Use license of the current Microsoft Office Suite at a greatly discounted price.  As a WKU employee, you may purchase Office to install on a personally-owned computer used at home.  The license remains valid as long as you are employed by WKU and WKU is a Microsoft Software Assurance Customer. If employment is terminated, you are required to uninstall the software to remain compliant. Please read below for Terms of Use.

For $9.95 (plus tax), an employee may download one of the following:

  • Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013
  • Microsoft Office for Mac 2011

For an additional $13.99 (plus tax), Microsoft will send you a backup DVD containing the installation files.  Shipment will usually take 2-3 weeks.

To obtain your license, please log in to the WKU Software Center and look under the Personal->Faculty/Staff tab. This offer is NOT available to WKU students.

Limitation on License Purchases & Transfers; Term of MSHUP Licenses

Microsoft software is licensed through the MSHUP solely for the use of qualifying employees of Microsoft volume licensing customers participating in the Microsoft Home Use Program. For purposes of MSHUP, a qualifying employee is a licensed user of a copy of a MSHUP - eligible desktop application currently enrolled in Software Assurance coverage. A qualifying employee may order only one MSHUP license per software title. MSHUP licenses are non-transferable.
You acknowledge that your right to use Microsoft software under a MSHUP license will expire upon the earlier of the following:

Termination of your employment with the volume licensing customer (WKU) through which you gained access to MSHUP; or the expiration/termination of Software Assurance coverage by WKU for Office. Should WKU terminate its relationship with Microsoft, all faculty/staff members will be notified.

Additional information regarding the Home Use Agreement can be found on the following web page: Microsoft Office Home Use Terms.
