How to Add Portlets / Web Content
Now you are ready to Add Applications (which are portlets also called Web Content)
– from the Options menu select the Add Application function
Add Application window will appear on left. Open the Folder containing the applications/portlets/Web
Content that you want to add. You will mainly be adding from the Content Management
Now select the Web Content Display "Add" link
Web Content Display Portlet loads. Now Select the icon
Selecting the icon will open the Web Content Display function select the Advance link on this form
and it will open the Basic form
When this page loads find the My Places drop down menu and change from My Community
myWKU selected form appears now select the Search button
This should now display a list of the available portlets in that folder. Select
the portlet by either selecting the ID or Name (double click).
Note at the bottom of the list you may to go to additional pages if needed.
Form returns and should display Portlet ID code – now select the
icon at the end of the toolbar and it will return you to the page you started
from. The portlet content updated.
You will be returned to the sub page you started from – with the portlet in the
first column top item.
Currently adding the portlet will not load the portlet name. You will have to
change the name of the Web Content Display portlet – naming
it what you want. You may set the name by selecting the name field on the portlet
and typing what you want to name the portlet then
hit enter – make sure to delete all of the old information from the name field.
