Niyati Thakur, International Student Diplomat

Niyati Singh Thakur is from India. She practiced dentistry for a couple of years in India before coming to WKU for her master’s in healthcare administration. Niyati speaks English, Hindi, and Telugu. She decided to come to WKU to fulfill her ambition of attaining global education. Niyati is an active member in the Student Healthcare Association and Indian Student Association. Niyati is an adrenaline junkie and takes delight in cooking and trying out different cuisines. Her favorite part of WKU is “the sense of belonging that you get once you step on campus, which is relatable to the diversity back home in India”.

“As an International Student Diplomat, I want to make sure that I am a part of the international student's journey here at WKU, guiding and helping them to explore possible avenues.” After graduation Niyati plans to tread the dental route and is keen on making an impact as a future healthcare leader.
