IDST 399: The World In 2030

Do you ever wonder what the future might be like? Do you ever think about how technology, climate change, or population growth might shape the kind of work you will be doing in twenty years? If you are interested in exploring the challenges and opportunities we might face in the year 2030, then you should enroll in “The World in 2030” – an interdisciplinary course about the future. This course will focus on seven trends that will shape the world over the next twenty years, including demographics, resources, technology, information, economic integration, conflict, and the challenge of governance. You’ll explore interrelationships between these trends and the differences between “probable and preferable futures” while also considering actions you can take in the short term to help bring about a preferable future.
