BIS Capstone Course

Capstone Courses

Students who have a catalog term of Fall 2009 semester or thereafter are required to take IDST 495 (3.0 credit hour option) or IDST 499 (1.0 credit hour option). A capstone course is a programmatic requirement for all BIS majors.

IDST 495 (3.0 credit hours)

Interdisciplinary Studies Capstone. This 3 hour course will be offered each semester, except Winter, online or face-to-face. Course Description: Examination of interdisciplinary scholarship and problem solving, with application based on each student's area of emphasis in the major. Students will produce a major IDST capstone project as well as a portfolio of career documents which will serve graduates as they move into career paths and/or graduate studies.

IDST 499 (1.0 credit hour)

Interdisciplinary Studies Capstone Experience. IDST 499 is a one hour Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Capstone Course offered during the each academic term. The course runs as an online biterm and should be taken in the student's final semester.
