Hall Council Positions

Hall Council Executive Board Position Descriptions:

Listed below are the following executive board positions with descriptions. If you are interested in running for a positions, please attend the Hall Council Information Meeting located in your hall or speak with you hall director or staff member. You may find additional information about the election process here. Also remember, if you have an unlisted position in mind that you would like to create, please speak with you hall director!

President:

  1. Preside over Hall Council General Assembly and Executive Board meetings
  2. Uphold the constitution and facilitate the amendment proposal and voting
  3. Serve as a budget authority in conjunction with the Administration Chair
  4. Serve as a member of the Presidents’ Committee
  5. Ensure that each board member is completing and upholding their position responsibilities
  6. Meet weekly with the advisor
  7. Attend staff meetings to provide updates on Hall Council and RHA
  8. Be in attendance at all Hall Council functions
  9. Attend Hall Council trainings
  10. Preform any other duties that may fall in the realm and success of Hall Council 

Administrative Chair:

  1. Perform the duties of the Hall Council President in that person’s absence
  2. Preside over the departmental budget in conjunction with the President and Advisor and share budget information during Hall Council meetings
  3. Coordinate with the Advisor on all Hall Council fundraising efforts
  4. Record and publish all Hall Council meeting minutes
  5. Attend all Executive Board meetings
  6. Be in attendance at all hall council functions
  7. Attend Hall Council trainings
  8. Perform any other duties that may fall into the realm and success of Hall Council

Events Chair:

  1. Coordinate all programming efforts of Hall Council
  2. Submit OTMs for Hall Council programs or assign a designee
  3. Attend all Executive Board meetings
  4. Be in attendance at all hall council functions
  5. Attend Hall Council trainings
  6. Perform any other duties that may fall into the realm and success of Hall Council

Marketing and Public Relations Chair: 

  1. Coordinate all marketing efforts for Hall Council
  2. Responsible for communication with residents by responding to emails and social media
  3. Attend all Executive Board meetings
  4. Be in attendance at all Hall Council functions
  5. Attend Hall Council trainings
  6. Perform any other duties that may fall into the realm and success of Hall Council

Hall Communications Coordinators (2 Available):

  1. Attend all RHA meetings and provide updates on their Hall Council
  2. Serve on one RHA Committee
  3. Assist with writing OTMs
  4. Assist with Hall Council programming
  5. Attend all Executive Board meetings
  6. Be in attendance at all Hall Council functions
  7. Attend Hall Council trainings
  8. Perform any other duties that may fall into the realm and success of Hall Council

Floor Representative Positions:

If you are interested in being a part of Hall Council but do not want to serve on the Executive Board, you may be interested in serving as a Floor Representative. Floor Representatives are elected during the first floor meeting (during the first week of classes) and is facilitated by the Resident Assistant for that floor. If you are interested, please see the RA on your floor and speak to him or her.

Floor Representative Position Description:

  1. Attend all Hall Council General Assembly meetings
  2. Publicize Hall Council events
  3. Bring residents' concerns to the General Assembly meetings
  4. Represent his or her floor at the General Assembly meetings
