Updated May 13, 2020

Due to the forced closure of face-to-face interactions on campus during the spring 2020 semester, students who had paid for housing and/or dining for the semester will receive a credit to their accounts. The University has worked diligently to review and follow the guidelines of the CARES Act and other university contracts. We are pleased to announce we are able to apply credits for all students who paid for housing and/or dining during the spring 2020 semester. Credits will begin to be applied in late May*.

*Timeline varies according to student status. See below for more details.

Housing and dining refunds made to Title IV recipients as stated above should not affect the recipients’ eligibility for need-based financial aid programs next academic year.

For other students, based on currently available federal guidance, any housing and meal credits carried forward to the 2020 Fall Semester would be considered a financial aid resource under Title IV regulations, meaning it will be counted in the student’s total financial aid package when monitoring Cost of Attendance and need-based over awards.

Your student account must be paid in full in order for your financial obligation hold to be removed from your student account. Please pay promptly. Payment options can be found here. You may contact the Billings and Receivables Office via email at billings.receivables@wku.edu

We understand these are uncertain times and that many students and families may find it difficult to pay their student account right now. We will not be assessing an additional late payment fee for the Spring 2020 semester, however, we do encourage you to make payments throughout the summer.

To receive financial aid counseling contact your WKU Financial Aid Counselor at https://www.wku.edu/financialaid/fa-help.php.

For guidance and assistance to students who still face financial difficulties in paying their account balance after consulting with their financial aid counselor, students may contact billings.receivables@wku.edu to discuss their account.
