All Residence Halls Closed on Sunday, March 22 at Noon / Move Out Timeslots Available March 23-31.

The move out process will be conducted in stages and extend March 23-31 to protect the health and safety of students and staff.

First priority for move-out was given to the students currently present in WKU Student Housing who stayed or returned during spring break.

Residents currently away from campus will schedule a specific day and time to move out to allow for appropriate social distancing in our buildings and to limit the number of people on campus. Sign up for a timeslot at www.wku.edu/housing/portal

To reduce the spread of germs, moving boxes, equipment, and volunteers will not be available.

If you are impacted by a travel restriction in your home state that prevents your return in the next two weeks, contact HRL at hrl@wku.edu to set up an alternative move out date.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we work to safely and quickly coordinate a move out process. WKU is taking these unprecedented actions to protect the health and safety of all. This is a difficult time for all of us, and we know how challenging this situation is for our on-campus residents.

Residents currently present in the residence halls on campus have two options:

Option 1: Pack your belongings and move-out by Sunday, March 22 at noon.

Residents will use the Express Check-Out process to officially check out of their assigned room. This includes completing the move-out tasks provided, and returning their room key in the provided envelope to the front desk. No contact will be made with a staff member.  Rooms will be inspected once all residents have moved out, and only major damages will be charged.

View the Express Checkout Procedures: https://www.wku.edu/housing/policies/checkout.php

If you are unable to completely move out by March 22, please sign up for a move-out timeslot between March 23-31st through the WKU Housing Portal.

Option 2: Request an extension to remain in WKU Housing based on an extenuating circumstance

If you need to remain on campus after Sunday, March 22, please fill out the extension form.

Approval is not guaranteed, and if approved, this does not guarantee that you will stay in your current room assignment. Additionally, you may be required to consolidate as needed to a residence hall, once space is open, cleaned, and available.

In an effort to maintain social distancing and to ensure staff availability, we have developed a plan that will provide an efficient and safe move out process for everyone.
