Biography
Hey, future Hilltopper! My name is Preston Romanov, and I am proud to call the hill my home. I’m a current sophomore from Louisville, Kentucky, majoring in Photojournalism with a minor in Political Science.

After my junior year of high school, I remember having the opportunity to attend a nine-day journalism workshop called Xposure hosted by WKU Student Publications. Through this program, I was immersed in the world of WKU and got to see the campus and live in a dormitory. Not only is WKU’s School of Media and Photojournalism program top in the nation, but I also fell in love with the traditions and history of this school and campus. From climbing the hill, to waving that red towel, to giving the Big Red statue a high-five, to chanting the fight song “Stand Up and Cheer.” I knew this school was going to be my future home.

My senior year I applied to WKU, got in, and then applied for the Mahurin Honors College, and I got accepted! I couldn’t have been more honored to join this prestigious student body whose focus is on student success. To ensure that we get special opportunities like study abroad and scholarships as well as making our big dreams come true.

The MHC is the first independent Honors College at a Kentucky public university. Since my time attending WKU, I’ve already made so many valuable relationships and connections within the honors college and the university. I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime, and now I am so excited to be an ambassador for the Honors College this 2021-2022 school year and represent the school with honor, pride, and spirit!

I can’t wait to be your tour guide soon! GO TOPS !!!

GO HONORS!
