The MHC HonorsToppers

I’m going into my third year here at WKU. I am from Northern Kentucky, right next to the Florence Y’all water tower if you know what that is. I came to Western not knowing anyone but was so looking forward to making new friends and gaining new experiences in college. I’m involved in a Greek chapter here on campus alongside a few other clubs. This is my first year as an HonorsTopper, and I’m so excited to get to meet you guys & hopefully see you around campus!

I’m double majoring in Marketing and Corporate & Organizational Communication. Believe it or not, this is completely different from the path I thought I wanted to follow heading into college. I started off as a Biology major with a Pre-Dental focus. After learning more about myself, I realized that it wasn’t what I wanted for myself. The change was frightening at first, but advisors and professors helped see me through this big change and I was overwhelmingly excited. I’m very happy with this new path I’m on and I’m looking forward to a career in these fields.

My freshman year, like I said, I didn’t know anyone at WKU. I got super involved and made so many friends! It was scary at first but being involved in the Honors College and other organizations on campus helped me find my home here. I love WKU, my peers, the the staff. Advisors, professors, tutors, and even students are always willing to help and provide rescources you need to succeeed.

I’m so thankful for the opportunities offered to me here at WKU. I couldn’t ask for a better community, the people here have truly helped shape me into the woman I’ve always hoped to become.

Go Tops!
