Hey everyone, I am Cameron. I have been serving as an HonorsTopper for two years now and I absolutely love the opportunity to show off our campus on the VIP tours. With a campus like WKU and the resources provided by the Honors College, I can't think of any place that I would rather be during my four years of college. The honors college is easily one of my favorite organizations to be a part of. The HonorsToppers have a fun, charismatic team that is unlike any other here on campus. I am honored to have served as the Treasurer for a year, and cant wait to get back to campus in the fall to begin my Junior year at Western Kentucky University.
When my honors experience started with H4, I had no idea that it would turn into what it has today. I have seemingly endless stories that I have created with friends I have met through the honors residence hall on campus, Minton Hall. The atmosphere of living in a Honors Freshman Hall comes with stories of late-night hikes to the honors college, sprint-through-centennial mall "study breaks", and competitive building wide games. All of which make for great story telling to prospective Honors students that join me on our tours.
Over the last couple years here at WKU, the Honors College has been omnipresent in opening new doors for me and bringing new opportunities my way.
What started with the honors college has turned into leadership in Greek life, leadership throughout campus, involvement in Intramurals, and becoming a Resident Assistant and much more. If there is one piece of advice that I could offer to high school seniors considering WKU, it would be to tour the Honors College with the HonorToppers team. Afterwards, you should have a whole new level of excitement about going to college. See you on Campus!
