We know that each scholar's ascent toward excellence is different. Some scholars come in as first-time freshmen, but if you are on this page, we know that isn't your path toward excellence.
So your path looks unique...we love unique in The Mahurin Honors College!
We want you to know that we welcome all current WKU, community college and transfer scholars to apply for admission year-round!
Definitions:
Current WKU Student:
Those students who are currently enrolled at WKU and have an interest in applying to The Mahurin Honors College.
Community College Student:
Those students who are:
- Currently enrolled at a Community College.
- Not currently enrolled as a high school student (i.e. dual credit enrollment).
- Interested in applying to The Mahurin Honors College and Western Kentucky University.
Transfer Student
Those students who are:
- Currently enrolled at another four-year institution.
- Not currently enrolled as a high school student (i.e. dual credit enrollment).
- Interested in applying to The Mahurin Honors College and Western Kentucky University.
Admissions Requirements
Current WKU, Community College, or Transfer Student (18-45 total hours)
- Eligibility: No more than 45 total hours of college coursework completed and in-progress with a 3.2 cumulative GPA. Eligible for the full 28-hour Mahurin Honors College curriculum.
Current WKU, Community College, or Transfer Student (45-75 total hours)
- Eligibility: Between 45-75 total hours of college coursework completed and in-progress with a 3.2 cumulative GPA. Eligible for the Honors in the Major program.
Admissions Deadline
For spring semester admission, apply no later than December 15. For fall semester admission, apply no later than July 15.
Curriculum
We know that if you are reading this page, figuring your curriculum out can be a challenge. You already have college credit. Will it count towards your major? Will it count toward MHC credit? These are all great questions. For more information on the curriculum, please click the button below.
