Massage Testimonials

Jason S. Polk

This treatment has been extremely helpful and quite eye-opening as to its benefits on my overall health and flexibility. Mark did an excellent job of explaining the treatment and taking time to figure out how best to address my issues. In just two sessions, the results are remarkable regarding the relief from pain and tightness in my legs and back. Combined with Mark's advice on home activities, this has changed my belief in regards to actually being able to achieve a fuller range of motion and in how myofascial release treatment can help—it really works! I very much look forward to continuing the treatment to work toward overall better health. Thanks!

I began seeing Mark for massage almost one year ago. In that short span of time this expertise has nearly doubled, and he was wonderful to begin with! As both a licensed massage therapist and professional dancer, I speak with respect and confidence when I say that Mark is one the finest therapists that I have encountered. His passion for the profession is phenomenal and his quest for knowledge is untiring. His immersion into Myofascial Release is a welcome addition to his skill set. It is this technique that I believe is the root of therapeutic massage, and I have seldom felt it performed with such skill and focused attention. Each time he works on me, he has gained deeper understanding of the internal workings of the body and the energetic component that coincides with them. I make a living with my body and mark is the best preventative care that I can give it.

Mark:Mark

Mark has been on the WKU Health & Fitness Lab's Massage Therapy staff for over a year now. A local resident of Bowling Green, Mark graduated from Natural Health Institute in 2011 to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. While attending NHI he studied a range of different massage therapy applications. His integrative method of massage is rooted in the principles of the late Janet Travell M.D., a pioneer of the myofascial approach to managing muscle and connective tissue pain. Mark continues to study massage actively in pursuit of an understanding of the body and it's natural healing process. Here at the Health and Fitness Lab he offers Swedish, Deep Tissue Massage and Myofascial Release services.
