Into the Shadow of the Disappearing Sun

"Into the Shadow of the Disappearing Sun”

WHere will you be

Total Solar Eclipse visible in Bowling Green, KY!

At 1:27 on Monday 21 August 2017 a total eclipse of the sun will be visible from WKU's campus. The entire North American continent will experience a partial solar eclipse, but only people in a 70-mile wide path from Oregon to South Carolina, including southwestern Kentucky, will be able to witness the amazing natural spectacle of having the Sun disappear in the middle of the day.  The staff of the Hardin Planetarium have created this presentation to help you understand what you need to do to safely observe the solar eclipse, and how to best prepare to enjoy this extremely rare phenomenon.

Free of charge and suitable for all ages. 35 minute running time, with time for questions at the end of the presentation.  Please note that the show will begin on time, with no late entrance permitted.
