New Horizons at Pluto

Pluto

A Whole New World

pluto

The New Horizons spacecraft, on July 14, 2015, accomplished a high speed flyby of Pluto and its moons. Since the day it was discovered 85 years ago, Pluto has been a harbinger of the mysteries on the far planetary frontier. This very first exploration of the far solar system is revealing unexpected wonders. After passing through the Pluto system, the spacecraft has been re-targeted for an encounter with a small Kuiper Belt Object and then will escape the Sun’s gravity and fly out into interstellar space — never to return to our solar system.

Free of charge and suitable for all ages. 45 minute running time, with time for questions at the end of the presentation. Please note that the show will begin on time, with no late entrance permitted. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
