Just provide us with a working email, and we will be sure to notify you of all the exciting upcoming events at the Hardin Planetarium, on the campus of Western Kentucky University.

Here's what you can expect to receive:

  • Notifications of our new shows in the star chamber. These topics change every five to six weeks. Keep abreast of the latest developments in astronomy at these family-friendly presentations appropriate for all ages but with enough advanced information to appeal to the avid astronomer as well.   • Notification of special events. From time to time the Planetarium hosts special events for the public.  Celebrations such as June, 2012's Venus Transit Party, or August 21st, 2018's Total Solar Eclipse feature live video feeds, special star dome presentations, games, exhibits and live interactive activities.  These are fun-filled days, suitable for the entire family. Be the first to hear about and schedule your attendance at these exciting experiences.
  • Special workshops and instruction camps.  The Planetarium hosts guest presenters on occasion for the serious astronomy enthusiast.  We also provide Astronomy Day Camps during some school breaks for the interested youngster of any age.  Get up-to-the-minute notifications of our special instructional happenings.   • Notification of Special Programs which feature the Planetarium
    • On the second Wednesday of each month, the Hilltopper Astronomy Club offers community viewing from the observatory on the roof of the building next door (TCCW). (This offering is suspended during 2018 while TCCW is being renovated.
    • On the last Monday night of the month, Bowling Green's SKy Science Festival offers its Science Cafe, a conversation with a scientist working with their cutting edge research. For more information, go to skyscifest.com.
