Living Archaeology Weekend is a free, annual, award-winning public outreach event held on the Daniel Boone National Forest in eastern Kentucky. It features demonstrations of Native American and pioneer technologies and lifeways such as flintknapping, spear throwing, pottery making, hide tanning, cooking, Native games and dance, blacksmithing, spinning, weaving, and much more. Friday is reserved for pre-registered school groups. Saturday is open to the public. Anthropology faculty and students from WKU volunteer at the event.

WKU Folk Studies graduate students attend and assist with local heritage festival in Horse Cave, Kentucky.
