Old-Time Music Jam, Pioneer Log Cabin

February 26, 2012

On February 26, 2012 the Nashville Old-Time String Band Association (NOTSBA) fourth Sunday jam will be hosted by the WKU Department of Folk Studies and Anthropology at the Pioneer Cabin in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Michael Ann Williams along with her husband David Carpenter and other local old-time music friends will be working to make the jam attendees feel welcome and comfortable.

NOTSBA is a friendly group that is open to anyone with a love for old-time stringband music. Musicians of all ages and abilities are welcome. On the fourth Sunday of each month NOTSBA members meet for an afternoon jam session from 2:00-5:30 in a special location hosted by various NOTSBA members and friends. Musicians take turns choosing the old-time tunes to be played. Tunes are mostly limited to those included in the NOTSBA Tunes Lists. A potluck collection of snacks are shared during a mid-afternoon break in the jam session, allowing attendees to chat with each other.
