Although the process of determining a student's eligibility for Federal student aid is basically the same for all applicants, there is some flexibility.
In some cases it is necessary to take into account circumstances that might affect the amount you and your family are expected to contribute toward your education. These circumstances could include the death of a parent or spouse, extended unemployment, retirement of a parent, loss of income such as social security, or a family's unusual out-of-pocket medical expenses or private school tuition expenses.
If such conditions apply to you or your family please come by our department and meet with a counselor to ensure your special circumstances qualify for consideration and attain the required paperwork to be reviewed for this process. If you are out of town, you may also contact our office by phone or email firstname.lastname@example.org and if your circumstances qualify the form will be mailed to you. Be sure to include the Student ID or social security number in your email.
