Advice for Exploratory Students

What’s one piece of advice you would give to an incoming Exploratory student?

Be open-minded and willing to look into different majors and careers. Don’t hesitate to use the various campus resources available to you. Try to not feel overwhelmed about the vast number of majors and start choosing a few that truly interest you. See how those correlate to the future career of choice for you and use that to help guide your decision on a major.

What tips would you give students about getting involved on campus?

Take time to look over the list of extracurricular activities on campus and then get in contact with the clubs/activities that interest you. Getting involved on campus can help you meet others and to build connections.

What campus resources helped you find a major?

The Exploratory Program’s resources page on WKU’s website was very helpful. There are many ways to look into different majors and careers.

What campus organizations are you involved in?

I am a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, Psi-Chi, NSCS and a Western leader along with my duties as an exploratory student ambassador.
