Advice for Exploratory Students

What’s one piece of advice you would give to an incoming Exploratory student?

Don’t stress out! Finding a major can be difficult sometimes but with the right resources and help it becomes very easy. Explore WKU’s website for academic programs and try to enjoy the classes you are currently taking.

What tips would you give to students about getting involved on campus?

There TONS of clubs and organizations on WKU’s campus. When you hear about events while in your residence hall, walking to class, or eating in DSU go and find out more information about those events. Most things are free as well!

What campus resources helped you find a major?

My Freshman year I was an Exercise Science major and wasn’t very happy taking the classes. The professors and classes were great but I wasn’t interested in the material that was being taught. In the spring semester I went to the Majors and Minors Fair where every major on campus is advertised. That’s where I found the Psychological Science major and switched to it the same day!

What campus organizations are you involved in?

Currently, I am the Membership Chair for Alpha Epsilon Delta, an Ambassador for the Exploratory Program, Member in the Psychology Club, and a Student Worker at the Study Abroad and Global Learning Office. Don’t be afraid to explore new clubs and interests. Have fun and study hard!
