Advice for Exploratory Students
What’s one piece of advice you would give to an incoming Exploratory student?
Don't stress too much about being an Exploratory student during your first year. A lot of students come in with a major, thinking they have the next four years of their life planned out, but it rarely happens the way they planned. Your first year of college is basically taking general education course and finding out who you really are.
What tips would you give students about getting involved on campus?
Don't be afraid to get involved! If there is a club or organization that you think you might be interested, attend the meetings to figure out if it is right for you.
What campus resources helped you find a major?
I attended the Majors and Minors Fair my freshman year because I was very undecided on what my major should be if I wanted to become a physical therapist. The faculty members from several departments talked to me about their programs, providing lots of information to help me decide what major was right for me.
What campus organizations are you involved in?
Apart from being an Exploratory Ambassador, I am also involved in several clubs and organizations. I am apart of the Mahurin Honors College, CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ), Pre-Physical Therapy Club, Exercise Science Club, and TopperWell. I am the Public Relations officer of the Pre-Physical Therapy club and Treasurer of TopperWell. I am also a Fitness Center Attendant at the Preston Center.
