By J.P.Miller. Directed by Jeff Beard. February 6-15. In the fast-moving milieu of Madison Avenue, social drinking is almost an occupational necessity, and one that fast-rising young Joe Clay adopts with too ready ease. Unfortunately the girl he meets and marries shares his proclivity, and while they continue to tell themselves that they drink because they choose to, it is soon apparent that their habit has become a serious problem. But their failure to acknowledge this plunges them headlong into the shattering events of the play—a career in shambles, a marriage destroyed, the esteem of friends and family lost, and a child who has become the innocent victim of their obsession. In the poignant ending of the play a spectre of hope arises but, more important, so does a galvanizing awareness of the depth of their torment, and of the lesson that their compulsive self-destruction must have for others

Fountain Square Players will be presenting a Dinner Theater Event to help raise money for much needed repairs of the roof of its scene shop and studio. The event will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 911 Searcy Way in Bowling Green. The center piece of the evening will be a "One night only" premier of the comedy "Broken Hearts and Broken Water.” In addition to the play and the dinner, there will be live music and raffles and other surprises. Tickets are $25 per person. One night only.
"Broken Hearts and Broken Water" tells the story of the Lacey sisters, who spent the summers of their childhood at the family lake house. Now adults, they begin to realize that the lake house has lost its magic. What's missing? Children and family. Can new and old faces bring them what their hearts secretly desire? Join the Lacey sisters as they discover the power of love, laughter and healing.
