Daniel Liddle is a native of the Chicago-land area. He received his B.A. in English from Illinois State University, his M.A. in Professional Communication from Clemson University, and studied Rhetoric and Composition at Purdue University. His research looks at the intersections of writing, technology, and professional communication, with an interest in the impact of multimedia and visual design on traditional professional genres. Currently, he is studying the growing use of animation in professional genres, including online video, data visualizations, and user interfaces. His most recent article, “Emerging Guidelines for Communicating with Animation in Mobile User Interfaces,” published in Proceedings of the International Conference on the Design of Communication, compares the animation design guidelines provided by Microsoft, Apple, and Google. Before coming to WKU in 2017, he worked with the Purdue Online Writing Lab, managing the production of videos on rhetoric and writing.
