Catherine Phillips Ware completed her ninth academic year at WKU in Spring 2014. For the 30 preceding years she taught in the Franklin-Simpson school system— mostly high-school English but also classes in journalism, speech, yearbook, drama, and humanities.
A Simpson County native, Mrs. Ware took her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her Masters is from Indiana University, Bloomington. And she has a Rank I—30 hours beyond an M.A.—from WKU.
Her hobbies are community theatre, gardening, and music. She has sung with the WKU Choral Society for many years and is an alto in the Franklin Presbyterian Church choir. Her most recent major projects were directing Little Shop of Horrors and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum for the Franklin-Simpson Arts Council as well as a production of a musical—Dark and Bloody: A Kentucky Love Story—that she cowrote with a friend.
