<p><strong>Bio</strong></p>
<p>Tanja Bibbs supervises the daily operations of the DL Testing Centers and WKU On Demand.&nbsp; Tanja is responsible for supporting faculty needs within those two areas in Distance Learning and collaborating with various WKU administrative units to improve the functioning of distance learning courses and programs.&nbsp; Tanja has been with WKU since 2009 and her previous role was as distance learning coordinator where she oversaw the day-to-day activities of WKU On Demand, coordinated the office marketing and recruitment activities, and provided conflict resolution strategies to faculty and students.&nbsp;</p>

    [Section_Value1] => <p>Jerry Daday is an Professor of <a href="http://www.wku.edu/sociology/">Sociology</a> and the Executive Director of the <a href="http://www.wku.edu/citl/">Center for Innovative Teaching &amp; Learning (CITL)</a> at Western Kentucky University (WKU).&nbsp; Jerry works with an <a href="http://www.wku.edu/citl/staff/">exceptional team</a> within CITL to support the teaching and learning mission of the university by collaborating with faculty to design content and courses that promote student engagement and success through active and applied learning opportunities.&nbsp; In addition to his general administrative responsibilities, Jerry works with various team members to create, administer, and deliver professional development opportunities for faculty and graduate students through professional learning communities, workshops, seminars, webinars, and single day conferences. CITL also collaborates with several units/centers at WKU to develop, implement, and assess High-Impact Practices (HIPs) and to ensure these efforts are done with purpose, fidelity and inclusive excellence.&nbsp; &nbsp;Coupled with this work at WKU, Jerry is part of a national community of practice that is committed and dedicated to empirically investigate HIPs and their influence on student success, retention, deep learning, and the acquisition of skills needed for success in the Twenty-First Century labor force.&nbsp; He is working closely with this group to plan and host the annual <a href="https://www.wku.edu/hips/">HIPs in the States Conference</a> at WKU between February 20-22, 2019. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Since earning his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in 2004, Jerry&rsquo;s primary research interests have focused on the etiology of violent offending and victimization in society.&nbsp; His dissertation and subsequent scholarly research focused on the extent of the overlap and divergence between victims and offenders involved in interpersonal violence.&nbsp; More recently, Jerry has utilized his methodological and quantitative expertise in support of several interdisciplinary research projects at WKU.&nbsp; These include: (1) a project funded by the US Department of Agriculture to examine the use of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) used at Farmers&rsquo; Markets in Kentucky; (2) a quantitative study examining perceptions of wildlife management and conservation strategies near Kruger National Park in South Africa; (3) a quantitative study examining student perceptions of e-text and e-learning materials and cognitive load in biology courses; (4) a quantitative project examining factors that increase graduation rates for students enrolled in STEM disciplines, and finally, (5) an evaluation of technologies that may be used to increase accessibility for students enrolled in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).&nbsp; In addition, Jerry has developed a research and teaching interest focused on Bosnia and Herzegovina, and more specifically the war and ethnic cleansing that occurred there between 1992-1995 and the genocide that occurred in Srebrenica in July of 1995.</p>

<p>In addition to his teaching, research and administrative responsibilities, Jerry is also actively involved in supporting the local community.&nbsp; Between 2012 and 2016, Jerry served as the co-director of <a href="http://www.wku.edu/tid/">WKU&rsquo;s Patricia Minton Taylor Theatre in Diversion Program</a>, which gives students from WKU&rsquo;s Department of Theatre and Dance and the Department of Sociology the opportunity to mentor at risk youth from the community who have committed a low level juvenile offense.&nbsp; He has also worked with the local Bosnian-American community to offer events that inform students, faculty, and staff at WKU and the larger Bowling Green community about the causes and aftermath of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the efforts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and national courts to achieve justice for the victims, and various efforts to promote reconciliation and nation-building since the conflict ended with the signing of the Dayton Peace Accords in 1995.&nbsp; In the summer of 2017, Jerry co-facilitated the Zuheir Sofia Endowed International Faculty Seminar <a href="https://www.wku.edu/zseifs/index.php">(ZSEIFS) to Bosnia-Herzegovina</a>.&nbsp; &nbsp;Last year, Jerry also co-chaired <a href="https://www.wku.edu/strategicplan/student/index.php">WKU&rsquo;s Student Success and Experience Strategic Planning working group</a>.</p>

    [Section_Value2] => <p>Jerry has taught several courses on a regular basis in the Department of Sociology at WKU, including Victimology, Life-Course Criminology, Comparative Criminology, Research Methods, Sociological Theory, and Introductory Sociology.&nbsp;He offered a new Colonnade General Education Course entitled Human-Wildlife Conflict in the fall semester of 2017 co-taught with Dr. Mike Stokes from the WKU Department of Biology.</p>

<p>As a testing specialist, Anthony assists the Testing Coordinator with the daily operations of the DL Testing Centers, supervises the proctoring staff, and is responsible for training the proctoring staff on security and integrity of testing materials for the DL Testing Centers.&nbsp; Additionally, he processes off-site exam requests including the approval process of off-site proctors, as well as, assists students with scheduling exams.</p>

<p>As the Testing Specialist of Distance Learning, Lisa is responsible for supervising student proctors and team leaders. Prior to joining Western Kentucky University (WKU), Lisa became a member of the Kentucky Army National Guard (KYARNG), and began working for the Department of Defense as a Training Specialist with an emphasis in Quality Assurance and Testing Administrator within the military sector. Retiring from the military in 2008, after 28 years of service, she worked for the Bowling Green Police Department as a dispatcher. Six months later, she was given the opportunity to work with Western Kentucky University (WKU) as a Testing Specialist, and accepted the position in January 2010.&nbsp;</p>

She is also responsible for recruiting initiatives for WKU On Demand; assists in marketing functions for the department, represents department at ATP&rsquo;s, Open Houses, information tables, visits to off-campus sites, and other recruiting opportunities. She maintains and works to increase the department&rsquo;s social media presence. Prior to joining WKU On Demand, Donna provided support for the GSKyTeach Graduate Program and its Executive Director, including recruiting cohorts and working with Graduate Studies &amp; Teachers Services departments. Donna managed the office for an original equipment manufacturer and was a packaging supervisor for a pharmaceutical company before moving to Kentucky.</p>

<p>As Instructional Technologist, Steven works with Distance Learning staff to help faculty develop skills needed to use instructional technology. Steven supports technology requests from the Distance Learning and WKU staff by implementing and promoting new technology that will be directly used by WKU faculty and students in their online activities. Through the blending of third party solutions with custom databases and web pages Steven strives to provide a valuable web experience for all that use these resources. Prior to joining WKU, Steven supported technology within the Bowling Green Independent School District from 1997 to 2014. Over this time Steven maintained servers, networks, databases, websites, classroom technology, student and teacher workstations, and software deployments. Steven was a critical part in planning, implementing, training and supporting of all new technology over the years to provide both faculty and students with an advanced technology based learning environment.</p>

<p>As the Assistant Director for the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning, Wren provides both in-person and virtual training and consultations for faculty who wish to better their skills with technology in the classroom and online teaching; this includes Quality Matters training. She also serves as a facilitator for the Graduate Assistant Teaching Institute (GATI), for the Part-Time Faculty Teaching Institute, and for other Professional Learning Communities for faculty at the university. Wren is also consults with faculty and staff on integrating High Impact Practices (HIPs) into their courses and programs. Previous to her position in with CITL, Wren served as the Training Coordinator for Distance Learning (2013-2016) and as the Instructional Coordinator for the Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching at WKU (2010-2013). Wren came to work in faculty development and training from faculty, working as an Assistant Professor in English at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College for KCTCS (2005-2009), and she has also taught for WKU as an Adjunct Instructor in English since 1999 and in the Organizational Leadership program since 2016.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p>As Instructional Technologist I, Drew primarily works with Distance Learning staff to provide assistance with instructional technology, such that WKU&rsquo;s faculty and staff can utilize various new software solutions to meet their specific needs. Drew strives to continually perfect the web applications that currently support WKU&rsquo;s faculty and staff, being careful to consider both individual preferences and the project&rsquo;s overall purpose during the course of development. In February of 2017, Drew joined Distance Learning as a full-time staff member while finishing his degree in Computer Science at WKU.</p>

<p>As coordinator, Tabatha oversees the staff and operations of the DL Testing Centers. She works closely with the WKU faculty to coordinate course exams at WKU&rsquo;s campuses, as well as, off-site testing locations. Prior to her position as coordinator, Tabatha was the Distance Learning Testing Specialist from 2005-2010.&nbsp; In this position, Tabatha supervised the proctoring staff and daily operations of the DELO Testing Center. She also processed off-site exam requests and scheduled students for exams.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As an instructional designer with the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning, Catie collaborates with University faculty, providing consultation in the application of instructional design and the use of instructional technology tools to deliver instruction through a variety of learning modalities. Along with her CITL colleagues, Catie offers recommendations for interface design, sequencing of instruction, use of assessments, and design of course materials and activities which promote student engagement in the online learning environment.
