WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Introduction to Computers

Session Format:

One 3–Hour Session


This seminar is an introduction to computers that explores what computers do and how they do it. It is intended as an introductory session and should be followed by training in Windows and specific word processing, spreadsheet, or database packages.


The participant will: (1) understand the basics of computers, (2) learn beginning vocabulary of computer terminology and disk operating systems, (3) be exposed to productivity software tools, (4) learn the major parts of a computer, hardware, and software, and (5) become well acquainted with the keyboard.

  • Loading and using a software package
  • Illustrations of Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases

Who Should Attend

This seminar is intended for individuals with LITTLE OR NO EXPERIENCE with computers.
